Doodle Dragons
The "Loopy Stitch" is based on turkey work.

Using two strands of OS White (Stranded), come up at Point 1, and back down at Point 2 as a standard half-stitch (Figure 1).

Come back up at Point 3, and back down at Point 4, repeating your back-stitch, but leave enough floss to form your loop in your stitch that is approximately 2 stitches in length. (Figure 2)

(Stitchers Note: It came in handy to have a thicker needle, placed two rows further down on the cloth, to loop the strand around for consistency and to keep the thread from tangling or being pulled through with the final stitch.)

Come up at Point 5, crossing your loop from Figure 2, and come down at Point 6, completing the cross-stitch (Figure 3). Take care to anchor the stitch firmly without tightening the loop out of the stitch (see Stitcher's Note).
